Now this is gonna be series of posts that will update the latest smart data plans in Nigeria.

I have a dream that one day internet will be freely available like air we breathe,


There was once something close to it offered by Visafone. 1 Terabyte Monthly for just NGN1,000. sadly it is no longer available.


Other networks have tried to give a lot of data volume, but complains of frustrating snail speed connection or lack of reception in most areas made their offer useless.



Etisalat have continued to maintain good speed and good reception in most places, so we can excuse their darn expensive cost.


This time they are being reasonable with their flexible plans, and I have been using them for a while now, here are a list of a few plans that are smart to use and friendly to the pocket is this hard biting recession.



  • SINGLE WEEKEND PLAN #500 for 1GB- Valid from friday 11:59pm – sunday 11:59pm. So it is a weekend plan, so if you have to browse heavily on the internet download within the limit of 1GB, you can for as low as #500, just dial *5995*2# to opt in.

  • SINGLE 1GB NIGHT PLAN: This to me is the plan for my "Vampire Hacktivities" 😉😉😉 for those of you who know what I mean. For just NGN200 you can surf the internet all night. The downside to this is that it is limited to only 1GB, and no provision is made for a higher volume like 2GB, 5GB. I hope they do this to allow for heavy downloads and updates at night. It is valid for 1 day. to activate, dial *229*3*11#.

  • 2GB EVENING & WEEKEND PLAN: Now this is one of the cool data plan I use, for just NGN1,00 you have 2GB available for a month for every evenings from 7PM to 5:59AM and all hours in the weekends! Cool for students and young guys working as it affords them to always have internet to surf when they are back from school or work.

To opt in Dial *229*3*12# , valid for 30days.

  • 5GB EVENING & WEEKEND PLAN: This is the coolest for me, a whole 5GB for NGN2,000!! So downloading videos, updating and other heavy internet activities for guys like me no longer have to rip my budget. It is also like the previous one, available for a month for every evenings from 7PM to 5:59AM and all hours in the weekends! I mean .. the best time to download is in the night na... Off peak tinz... To Opt in Dial *229*3*13# also valid for 30days.
